Lush App
Project Details
Project length: 1 month project
Role & responsibilities: UX Researcher and Designer
Collaborators: Andrew Ye & Brandon Garcia
Problem statement: Felix needs to upskill his mixology with what ingredients are on hand so that he can impress people at social gatherings with the best-tasting cocktails.
The solution: Lush offers users the resources to make cocktails at home or at parties with minimal knowledge.
Overview
Lush is a concept app that is a fun but educational app that is designed to give users the ability to find, create, and save their favorite cocktails.
Why?
If a party has alcohol, people like to drink and from user interviews, they want more variety than a simple rum and coke. Lush offers users the resources to make cocktails at home or at parties with minimal knowledge.
Research
With these results, an Affinity map was made and arranged to cover the basics in order to create our User Persona.
After which, we went through the ideation phase for our app.
A user journey map of a possible scenario for app discovery and use.
Design
Testing
User testing and success average
Through testing of our wireframe prototype, we ran into some issues and corrected them in the high-fidelity prototype.
Issue:
Users were confused by having both a My Bar and an Account
Users were not sure what “Mixer” was
Iteration:
Combined My Bar with Account
Changed Mixer to Search
Issue:
Users were found that there were too many clicks to tailor a drink
Iteration:
Tailor page was removed and combined with main drink page to ensure less clicks and directions were edited
With our style guide applied and our high-fidelity prototype made, we continued testing for further feedback
Conclusion
Final thoughts
A very team-oriented approach was done for the completion of this project. All parties contributed equally and we created a fun concept through hard work and teamwork. No section was rushed and all choices had meaning.
Next steps
Continue testing and improve any further issues. We would like to expand some features that were not initially done in the early stages of design.
