Lambda Center Redesign

What?

Lambda Center - Houston is a LGBTQ+ AA center in Houston. It has a healthy mix of types of meetings ranging from AA to CMA (crystal meth anonymous). Around since 1978, it offers a place of recovery and community.

Why?

The current design of the Lambda website is faulty and complicated to navigate. Current users have issues navigating for events, the schedule, and other resources. Our redesign of the Lambda website and the expansion of the current resources will keep current users and attract new users.

5 current members of Lambda were interviewed. With their answers, we developed an affinity map and arranged it.

With these results, an Affinity map was made and arranged to cover the basics in order to create our User Persona.

After which, we went took the current navigation tabs and it's pages and had a group of non-members of Lambda cart sort them.

Based on the 5 interviews conducted, we focused highly on a mobile prototype.

From sketches to wireframes and the creation of a style tile, we continued testing and created our high fidelity prototype.

Through iterations and further testing of our wireframe prototype, many changes were made to main tabs, header, and footer navigation

We chose this direction because we wanted to have a sense of welcoming and warmness; addiction is real but so is recovery, was the mantra we were aiming for.

A large aspect that we wanted to focus on is the ability for users to share the website very quickly.

Based on the interviews, all users found at about Lambda through other members, so we wanted to drive home the sense of community and sharing.

We wanted to expand the current resources provided by Lambda because our interviewees spoke about how they love Lambda, but wish they had additional resources to help them and their other loved ones suffering from addiction.

We tested 6 participants for our prototype and we further made iterations based on user success and feedback.
